Who We Are

Ethiopian Coffee
by Hanan Tarq

Ethiopia is not just where coffee comes from — it is where coffee was discovered. The highlands of Sidama, Yirgacheffe, and Guji, with their ideal altitude, rainfall, and ancient forest ecosystems, still produce the most complex cups on earth.

Ethiopian Coffee is a specialty-only exporter and roaster built on that heritage. Grade 1 is our standard: every lot is hand-selected, cupped to international specialty standards, and shipped with full farm-to-port documentation. Grade 2 is available on request — nothing below specialty makes the book.

We ship green coffee to importers and roasters, and our roasted collections — whole bean, ground, and gift tins — to retailers and distributors. Sold at home in Ethiopia, built for the world: the USA, Germany and the EU, Saudi Arabia, the wider Middle East, and China.

The Founder

Hanan Tariq

Founder & Brand Ambassador

Ethiopian Coffee is the vision of Hanan Tariq — an award-winning Ethiopian actress, model, and entrepreneur, born and raised in Addis Ababa. She has grown into one of Ethiopia's most recognizable faces, with an audience of more than a million followers.

She is also a serial businesswoman: founder of Addis Way Real Estate, brand ambassador for Samsung and M.A.C Cosmetics, the face of CANAL+'s launch in Ethiopia, and a longtime advocate for girls' education through Studio Samuel. Her ventures share one thread — taking Ethiopian excellence seriously, and presenting it to the world without compromise.

With Ethiopian Coffee she brings that energy home to the country's oldest treasure. Every bag that leaves Addis Ababa carries her signature — a personal guarantee that what is inside is authentic, hand-selected, and world-class.

The Mark

A Fingerprint,
Not a Logo

Our mark is a fingerprint drawn into the curve of a walia ibex — the wild mountain goat found only in Ethiopia, and a nod to Kaldi's herd, who led us to the first coffee cherries. Personal, singular, and impossible to copy, it stands for how we work: named farms, traceable lots, and a founder's mark on every bag.

You will find it foil-stamped in gold on our navy and ice-blue packs, alongside Amharic script honoring the origin — የኢትዮጵያ ቡና, Ethiopian coffee.

Our Values

What We Stand For

Quality Without Compromise

We cup every lot and apply strict specialty grading before it leaves Ethiopia. If it does not meet Grade 1 or Grade 2 standards, it does not carry our name.

Traceability & Transparency

Full farm-to-port documentation on every shipment. You know exactly where your coffee comes from — region, washing station, and processing method.

Fair Partnerships

Long-term relationships with the farmers and washing stations we source from, ensuring fair pricing and sustainable livelihoods in the highlands.
